John Nazar began his career teaching social studies for seventeen years. In addition to being a classroom teacher, he was a master teacher to many beginning teachers, department chairperson, developed and wrote the curriculum for the Advanced Placement American Government course, was an athletic coach, and service learning and global ethics classroom program coordinator among many other things.
He then served as the Assistant Principal at Cunha Intermediate School in Half Moon Bay. At Cunha, he was responsible for the administration of student issues and discipline, oversaw student activities and the leadership program, helped develop the report of the district’s English Language task force, athletic director, worked with many parent organizations including PTA, sports and band boosters, and was the lead developer/coordinator of the school’s “community schools” initiative.
Mr. Nazar is dedicated to working with the students, parents, teachers, staff and community members to development and maintain the very best educational environment for all Tierra Linda students
