Dear Tierra Linda Families,
I hope that everyone had a very nice Thanksgiving break. Today is the first day of the second trimester. Please know that grades are being finalized, and we will be sending more information about report cards later this week.
Library Docents Needed
The TL librarian is seeking parent volunteers to help supervise our kids at lunch times and breaks, process and shelve books, check out books to students, and generally keep the library tidy and organized. If you are looking for a place to connect with students and staff, the library is the place!
Interested? Please contact Emily Cooke at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Donate your New and Used Children’s Books by December 19th
Alyse M and Meagan F, 8th grade students at Tierra Linda Middle School, are organizing a book donation drive for kids. We are donating all of the books to the new “Free Little House Library,” soon to be located at Brittan Acres Elementary School. Children’s books, from grades K-4, can be dropped off directly to the TL office in the Donation Box now!. This is a community service project and a part of our Girl Scout Silver Award. Thank you for your support and book donations!
Cell Phone Reminders
Please remind your students to make sure that cell phones are not to used during school hours unless approved by a teacher. We are asking all students to make sure that phones are off or on do not disturb during the school day. We would like students in the 7th and 8th grade to store their phones in their lockers. Students in 5th and 6th grade should either store phones in backpacks or their pockets. Please take a moment to remind your student(s). If you need to get a message to your student please feel free to contact the office during school hours, or please wait until 2:30.
This message is for those student who ride the SamTrans bus to and from school. I am asking all families to have this conversation at home. Please spend time discussing being safe when getting on and off the bus, please remind students to take their time and be careful not to push others when getting on or off the bus, or while riding the bus.
Please also take a moment to remind students to stay on the sidewalk when walking to and from school. We have noticed that with the larger numbers of students walking onto the campus some students will go into the street to go around the large numbers of students. This is not safe, so please remind your students to stay on the sidewalk at all times.
After School Pickup and Supervision
If students are waiting on the blacktop for pick-up they need to wait at the blue tables, the playground and playard are not supervised so are closed for all students. The exception is only for those student enrolled in SMARTE after school.
Supervision is provided after school in the library.
